Many years ago, this is where I worked... just before I left my home town of Scunthorpe to pursue my art career. The plant stopped making steel in 1981 and thousands of people who worked there suddenly found themselves having to seek new employment. This was the view of the skyline looking across from Dragonby Hill towards the west. I felt compelled to do a painting of this scene, as I knew the steelworks would soon be demolished.
For those who may have fond memories of this place, I had a limited edition run of 25giclée prints made.
