Many years ago, this is where I worked... just before I left my home town of Scunthorpe to pursue my art career.
The plant stopped making steel in 1981 and thousands of people who worked there suddenly found themselves seeking new employment. This was the view of the silent skyline looking across from Dragonby Hill towards the west. Needless to say, I felt compelled to do a painting of this scene, as I knew the steelworks was soon to be demolished, and this view would be gone forever.
For those who may still have fond memories of this place, I have had a small limited edition run of 25giclée prints made.
