Probably the busiest painting I have ever created, yet it was fun to work on. As a child, I fondly remember the nature series of Ladybird Books, where, if you looked closely you could always find hidden creatures. Similarly, I have "hidden" many small alien life forms.

Painted especially for a compendium collection of my book jacket paintings, "Only Visiting This Planet"... inspired by the Genesis song "Squonk" from the CD "A Trick of the Tail".
Squonk's story is quite sad... a Squonk small pitiful creature who hides away deep in the woods, believing he's too ugly to be seen by anyone. When captured by a hunter, he dissolves into a pool of tears.
This painting was also used as the CD sleeve artwork for Emotional Creatures (part one) by progressive rock musician Steve Thorne.

Ireland's west coast is both dramatic and breathtaking. This is the view of the sunrise on Old Head Beach, Louisburgh, Co Mayo looking across towards Croaghpatrick... Ireland's tallest mountain.
The original was painted onto CS10 art board using acrylic paints

If you would like me to paint you an original work of art, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Initially, all I need is a brief description of the sort of thing you're looking for - including the size etc, and especially
how soon you need the painting by. I will then get back to you with a rough estimate of the price and time scales.
I would then doodle out some rough sketches of the intended finished painting. Once we're all happy, and
in agreement on both the pricing and the proposed painting, I would then make a start on the artwork.
At this stage, a third of the agreed price of the finished painting would be required as a deposit.
The price for a Fantasy/SF themed painting can range anywhere between £300 - £3,000
depending on the complexity of the artwork, the size and the time it takes to complete.
The Natural History paintings range from £100 up to £500, again depending
on detail and the time it takes to complete the painting.
I always try to be fair and hopefully affordable, yet paintings take time and patience.
If you would like your painting professionally framed, this can be arranged. I have
an excellent framer friend who can do this for you at a reasonable, additional cost.
