Danny Flynn has been illustrating the covers of Science Fiction and Fantasy novels for many decades. After completing an Arts Foundation course, Danny spent his late teens driving overhead cranes in a steelworks in his birth town of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. He then moved to London to do an Illustration/Graphic Design BA (Hons) Degree at Kingston University, Surrey.
To date, Danny has illustrated the covers for many hundreds of novels - for some of the best-known Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror authors - a list that includes Arthur C Clarke, Frederik Pohl, Isaac Asimov, Greg Bear, Charles Sheffield, Robert Heinlein, Jack McDevitt, Octavia Butler, Tanith Lee,
Olaf Stapledon, Brian Stableford, Shaun Hutson, T M Wright and George R R Martin.
Sir Arthur C Clarke, author of the classic "2001 A Space Odyssey" wrote the foreword to Danny's compendium book of paintings"Only Visiting This Planet - The Art of Danny Flynn" published by
Paper Tiger. Danny has also worked in the Computer Games Industry, providing Concept Art
for projects with EA Games, Frontier and Traveller's Tales (Twinsanity" Crash Bandicoot).
As well as currently working on a series of pastoral fantasy landscapes for this website,
Danny continues to pursue his long-term objective - to bring the moon to life, having now
created his own unique brand of quirky collectible characters - MoonAliens - hundreds
of the universe's misfits who live in a secret "world" deep inside the moon!
